Merry Christmas! As we reflect back on the past year, we are sad yet hopeful. When we began our adoption we were expecting to by parents for Christmas this year. We are still very excited that our dream of bringing our little girl home will still be realized. Here is an update of where we are right now...
We got good news yesterday! We are not wanted by the FBI! Whew! So now we are waiting for Immigration approval. We are also waiting on our Home Study approval through our referral agency. Once our Home Study has been reviewed and approved we will be assigned a region in Russia in which we may get a referral. As regions vary in what the judge expects to be included in a dossier we will find out what other documents we need to complete our dossier specific to that region. Once our dossier is submitted to Russia for translation it is expected that we would get a child referral in 4-9 months. Essentially we are now hopeful to bring our daughter home to celebrate Christmas with us next year.
